Cryogenic
Although martensitic transformation is expected in the microstructure of the steel after irrigation, the entire austenitic structure may not turn into martensite. Depending on the amount of this residual austenite, the temperature range between -80 degrees and -190 degrees is reduced to remove this residual austenite. After the cryogenic process immediately after quenching, tempering is performed. Thanks to this process, wear resistance, hardness increases and internal stresses decrease in steel. The applied materials generally include high carbon and high alloy steels.
